Because they do not believe in God, they place their childlike faith in Godlessness. Believing that they can see the future and read minds which is an example of psychic. People that place their beliefs in their own power such magicians, is another example of where people's beliefs come from. An example of that would be the ones that went against Moses. We have an imagination that says we can fly, we can run super-fast, we can teleport, etc. That comes from the God giving us that because he is all powerful.
